|Punggol-North New Town Review For New Home Buyers|
|Overview and History||This area consider the best places for nature / seaside lovers, recreation and water sports. Punggol North is located near to the coast. Previously in the 70s, there are many seafood restuarants situated near Punggol point. In the early 60s, there is a Singapore Zoo located along punggol road but was closed down then. In the 80s, there is a fishery port just a track off Punggol Rd for the Kelong fish farm to unload their fresh seafood stocks to the market. It is consider a good place so far. Price might not be as low as Tengah or Canberra due to the location is much nearer to the city. With its new upcoming MRT station on the west side of Punggol Rd near the coast. It is a plus point for you to consider Punggol North.|
|Facilities and Amenities||There are usually some supermarket in the Sumang estate like Sheng Siong nearby if it is still new there. For bigger shopping centers, you can find Waterway Point by 1 MRT station away @ Punggol if Punggol North is ready. For food, we are sure you will be pampered with Punggol Point seafood for sure but not everyday. There are a few coffee shops around for the time being but there will be a new hawker center next to Punggol MRT Station in future. As for other sports facilities, you will have a new swimming complex beside SAFRA Punggol or you might need to go further which is the SengKang Sports Complex at Anchorvale. Nearest Hospital would be Sengkang or Khoo Teck Puat at Yishun.|
|Transport|| It is quite accesible here with the new MRT station (Punggol North). There are a few expressways(TPE, KPE) to drive. The public transport is only accessible via LTA, only bus 84 serve that area for now (2018). You might try to use http://publictransport.helpmecheck.com to see how to access to other places in singapore. |
|Nearby Workplaces and Schools Available||For work, it is quite accessible to the city via the NorthEast Line to areas such as Chinatown, Dhoby Ghaut which you can change trains to the city. For Education, nearby Polytechnics are Nanyang, Repulic and Temasek Polytechnic by bus which take around 1hr journey. Primary and Secondary education is not an issue as there are established ones nearby. Only tiertiary education such as ITE, JC, Unis and Polys will need to travel longer. Nearby University will be SMU at Dhoby Ghaut and SUTD at Expo|
|Conclusion and Verdict|| Transport is good in the future, seaside living, not far from the city and some promising future facilities . Cons are you may have some Pasir Gudang Refinery gas smell once awhile due to the production of cracking methane over the straits. There are lesser education choices for the children. We can give a 3.5 out of 5. This is still a good new town afterall.|| About BasicReno.com || BasicReno.com is an online self-service platform for New HDB/Condominum/Shop Owners to get their place renovated. |
